I Have Lost the Ability to Cry (An Amateur Thinker’s Thoughts on That)

After a night of disappointment and my perceived social rejection, I decided to lay in bed and fall asleep listening to The Clientele, a band that I cried to religiously over this past summer. It took me hours to sleep, and even after hearing the same songs that usually make me burst into tears, all I was able to do was curl in a ball and ignore my phone until I woke up again.

I’m not sure if any one else has had this feeling, but it’s been prevalent since COVID-19 disrupted what would have been a smashing end…
